About Love is Greater Photography:

Hello, Love is Greater Photography is owned and operated by me, Joshua White. This is the blog... it will contain all the latest and greatest from our recent shoots, as well as anything else I feel like writing on any given day. Thank you for visiting.

Some random tidbits of information about me: Married since 2004 to my amazing wife. Born in 1981, living in Toledo, Ohio. Have a rad little girl who was born in August of 2010. My favorite things in life are family, friends, doing life with both, love, creativity, authenticity, hope, music, and being a coffee / food / beer / wine snob.

  • I'm starting to get the shakes. I need to do a photo shoot, and soon. Who wants some photos taken? haha… no, but really.

    Chaos Theory // Band Photos

    Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

This post has been a LONG time coming. While out in Oregon nearly two months ago, I had the opportunity and the pleasure to hang out with and take picture of a local Medford band called Chaos Theory. I’m sure regular watchers of this here blog will recognize a couple members of the band right away. These guys (and gal) were a blast to work with, and from what I’ve heard of them, I’m just happy to have played a small role in their journey. It should also be noted, that these guys can TEAR UP some pasta… but that’s a story for another day. Check out some of my favorites from this session below!

Gerald & Nicki – Engagement Photos

    Thursday, September 17th, 2009

How can you NOT have fun at a shoot when very sharp swords are involved? Gerald and Nicki are quite into the way of the ninja, and really, who can blame them. This was one of the more fun shoots LGP has ever done, and we really dig the final product. Check out some of our favorites below:

ANNOUNCEMENT: Changes to how we handle prints

    Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

To all past and future LGP clients,

I have an important announcement to make to you all. I wanted first though to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of our past clients that have believed in our vision and allowed us to come into your lives in a small way and help create some memories. Memories that you just happen to be able to hang on your wall, ha!

In the past, we’ve been content to outsource my print orders. We’ve used a service that I honestly have very little complaints with for the last eighteen months, but the more and more we’ve gotten into this the more creative control we would like when it comes to what the prints look like. This is the sole reason we are moving to self-fulfilling prints.

What this means to our clients, is that you will now be buying prints directly through LGP, instead of a third party website/print lab. I have researched a variety of print labs, ordered test prints, painstakingly compared them side by side, and have finally settled on what I feel to be the best print lab available to suit my and your needs. The turnaround will be faster, the quality will be better, and most importantly I’m involved in the process, so there is a much smaller chance of anything going wrong.

Now, there is a small catch. I have to move all 43 print galleries off my old print store, and I only have till the end of this month to do it. I would kindly ask that if you are considering purchasing prints within the next fourteen days to let me know immediately, so I can get your gallery moved as soon as humanly possible. If you aren’t in a hurry to have your prints moved over, that’s fine, feel free to ignore this. And please do not fret, all your photos are saved in multiple locations so if your gallery does not get moved over right away and you’re wondering how to purchase prints, just send me an email and I’ll re-upload it to the new print store right away.

Finally, for all this hassle, I’d like to extend a special discount to all past LGP clients. Book a shoot before the end of October (the shoot date can be anytime, just have to book by the end of October) and we’ll give you a hefty discount.

Again, thank you all for supporting Love is Greater Photography. I honestly cannot express how much fun getting to meet you all and take your photos has been for me.

    Anna – Senior Photos

    Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

On Saturday we had scheduled a shoot with Anna, a very rad student who contacted us about a month ago. Gregg shot this session exclusively on his own, as I was down in Mansfield shooting a wedding with a fellow Toledo photographer, Mary Wyar. Looking at the shots, I’m sad I didn’t get a chance to meet and hang out with Anna, as she seems full of personality and would be a lot of fun to shoot. Still, having the chance to do the editing these photos is pretty stinkin’ cool. Check out some of our favorites from this session below!

    Jocelyn – Senior Photos

    Monday, September 14th, 2009

So I’m just going to come out and say it, Jocelyn and her mother Nicole are an absolute trip! They came down to Toledo (from Detroit) to get some pictures taken, and we had a rad time exploring some of Toledo’s decay for her session. I’m stoked about how the pictures turned out, so take a look at just a few of our favorites below!
