About Love is Greater Photography:
Hello, Love is Greater Photography is owned and operated by me, Joshua White. This is the blog... it will contain all the latest and greatest from our recent shoots, as well as anything else I feel like writing on any given day. Thank you for visiting.
Some random tidbits of information about me: Married since 2004 to my amazing wife. Born in 1981, living in Toledo, Ohio. Have a rad little girl who was born in August of 2010. My favorite things in life are family, friends, doing life with both, love, creativity, authenticity, hope, music, and being a coffee / food / beer / wine snob.

Mary and Ben!
This was another engagement session I managed to squeeze into my short period back in Toledo in June/July. We were having a difficult time deciding on a day we could all do it, until Gregg started talking about how he wanted to take some photos of fireworks on the fourth. It was as if a light bulb magically clicked in our heads, and we decided to ask Mary and Ben if they’d be up for a little experiment!
So we met in the late afternoon on Sunday to do a traditional (in our sense of the word, ha) session, and then hung out for a couple hours until the fireworks started. Admittedly, our execution was not perfect (there is some ghosting), but I’m really happy with how these photos turned out for being our first time experimenting with doing portraits in front of a fireworks display, all while not having beer bottles thrown at us for being the annoying people using flash photography during a fireworks display =).
Here are just a few from the shoot!

Ahhhh Katelyn and Rich… I’m not even sure of where to start =). This was a wedding that was booked after I moved to New Mexico, so sadly I didn’t have a chance to meet Katelyn or Rich until their wedding day. Gregg had met with them multiple times, and shot their engagement with Lori (another shooter-friend of ours, who also shot the wedding with us), but my only real interaction with them was via email all the way until their wedding. Email was enough, however, to know how much fun these two were, and how enjoyable their wedding would be.
From the reception location, to the people involved, to the details, we had a wonderful time shooting this wedding down in Bowling Green, Ohio. We wish nothing but the very best for Katelyn and Rich, and think the world of them =).
Here are just a few of my favorites from the day. I am switching to a flash-based method of displaying the photos, let me know if it works out okay. FYI – Rich likes Apple. =)

I met up with Deanna & Erdem early on a Sunday morning in downtown Toledo while back in Ohio in June/July. Their wedding isn’t until December, but we wanted to rock out some engagement photos while we were all in town. You see, between me living in Albuquerque, and Deanna & Erdem living in New York City, our schedules are a little tough to nail down
.
These two were an absolute riot, and I am really looking forward to their wedding day. They have a great story, Erdem is originally from Turkey, he and Deanna met at a restaurant they both worked at here in Toledo before moving to NYC for a job. It was a great day to be shooting downtown as well, as we pretty much had the run of it… the streets were empty!
Anyway, here are just a few of my favorites from their session…
While in Ohio, I always make some time to visit CedarCreek.tv. This church was way more than my employer for six and a half years, it helped form and refine me into the person I am today. Some of the greatest people I know I’ve worked with, been mentored by, and just generally had a great time with all came from CedarCreek.tv.
So this trip, since I had more time than my normal trips, I spent Sunday morning taking photos at a couple different campuses at the request of some staff members. It’s been a long time since I’ve done photos for CedarCreek. To be honest, I credit all the photos I took of CedarCreek in the past with the fact that I’ve been able to get some pretty rad gigs since (photographing the STORY conference, the Rock and Worship Road Tour). And, this was my first time back with MUCH improved gear. So I jumped at the opportunity, got up way too early on a Sunday morning after a ridiculously late and tiring Saturday, and headed out.
Here are some of my favorite images from the day. You can check out ALL of the images on my Facebook by clicking here.
