About Love is Greater Photography:

Hello, Love is Greater Photography is owned and operated by me, Joshua White. This is the blog... it will contain all the latest and greatest from our recent shoots, as well as anything else I feel like writing on any given day. Thank you for visiting.

Some random tidbits of information about me: Married since 2004 to my amazing wife. Born in 1981, living in Toledo, Ohio. Have a rad little girl who was born in August of 2010. My favorite things in life are family, friends, doing life with both, love, creativity, authenticity, hope, music, and being a coffee / food / beer / wine snob.

    CedarCreek.tv Video Shoot (Monica)

    Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Earlier this week I was contacted by Kyle Gray, a creative over at CedarCreek.tv about coming along to do some photography for a video shoot they wanted to do this week. The idea was pretty much just for me to guide the video producer (Ryan) and model (Monica, whom I’ve shot a number of times before) around the city to some abandoned areas, as well as take photos that they’ll be integrating into the video. I was happy to help, so yesterday we set out with Ryan’s fifteen page shot list and somehow managed to get done in just under five hours =).

Here are just a small sampling of the nearly 800 photos I took yesterday. Some behind the scenes stuff, including a hilarious shot of Monica’s sister, Ashley doing her assistant duties well (holding Monica’s stuff in a creative way), but most are some of the very shots that will be used in the video.

The video is complete! Check it out below. (My photos REALLY start coming into play around the 3:01 mark)

    STORY 2010

    Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

My little girl was just six weeks old, and to be honest leading up to STORY I was kind of wishing I hadn’t already made a commitment to go. We just finished an epic move back from New Mexico to Ohio, and the last thing I wanted to do was have to leave my family for three days. But, I made a commitment to be there and photograph the event for the second year in a row so backing out, especially this late, was no longer an option.

To be honest, I’m about as giddy as one can possibly be and still retain their man card that I went. STORY 2009 was great, but STORY 2010 absolutely blew it out of the water. Life changing, inspiring, career changing, they just aren’t strong enough terms. Some of the technology was the coolest I’ve ever seen, the moments in worship were heart moving, and the people were all amazing.

I could write a big long post rehashing my thoughts on every speaker, but to be honest Tim Schraeder already did an amazing “appendix” post on the conference that is more than enough information for anyone who wants to know what happened. Instead, I’ll leave you with 58 of my favorite pictures from the event. You can view ALL the photos I took on the official STORY CHICAGO flickr account here. Also, toward the end are a bunch of pictures I took of the people I spent most of my time with, and had fun exploring Chicago with. Alece, Mandy and Todd were all great to be with, and I look forward to seeing them again soon!

    The Bullock Daughters 2010

    Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

This is the fourth time now I’ve worked with the Bullock family, and every time is a joy. We’ve settled into a yearly round of pictures for all four daughters, and in the past I’ve done senior photos for Katy and Monica. This time was no different in the amount of fun had, these girls are seriously a blast to work with! Seriously, I always look forward to shooting with them! Here are just a few favorites from their session

    The Lusk Booth!

    Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

On Sunday, September 5th LGP descended upon Plymouth, Michigan to shoot a wedding of a very awesome couple, in a very rad location, with some amazing weather and people! Gregg and I were stoked to be doing a fauxto-booth for the reception, and here are just a few of our favorites!
