What is #50pic?
It’s an idea. It’s a fun way to spend a day, and (possibly) stretch your creativity a little. The idea was born from a blog post written by photographer Chase Jarvis, where he challenged photographers to take a day and just shoot for yourself. It started as #100pic, but after the first one, I realized that 100 was a bit too many for most people, especially the casual participants. So now, it is simply go through your day with whatever camera you have, take fifty pictures (no more, no less), edit them however you desire (or not at all), and share them for the world to see. It doesn’t matter if you’re using the most expensive DSLR made, a point and shoot, or the camera on your phone.
Who should participate in #50pic?
Anyone! Admittedly the idea was started for photographers and creatives, but I really believe it’s a good opportunity for anyone to take a little time, and appreciate the world around them. And, when you share the photos, it becomes a good opportunity for people to get to know you better!
When is #50pic III?
Friday, May 7th. All photos must be taken before midnight, whatever time zone you’re in. You can post them sometime over the weekend.
How do you participate in #50pic?
Well first, I’d discourage anyone from posting ALL fifty pics to their twitter… I promise you’ll lose some followers if you do =). I will not be one of them, but I’m just giving you fair warning as it’s happened to me =). If you’re on twitter, simply upload whichever photos you immediately want to share using the hashtag #50pic. If you’re on facebook, flickr, or writing a blog post, just make a gallery called #50pic III.
Finally, I’d ask that you all spread the word! Feel free to link back to this post, or copy it verbatim and put it on your own blogs and call it your own idea =), I frankly don’t care about taking credit. I really look forward to seeing everyone’s photos!!!

Ok I should be able to do this. What fun? So to be clear, I'm only allowed to take 50 pics right? What if it takes multiple times to get the shot I want does that go to my 50?

Yeah, I should have been more clear there. The idea isn't to take 50 great pictures, it's just to take fifty pictures… so don't go tossing out the crap just because you think it's crap =)
